Here are some brief updates on the recent stuff from "my projects".
Muxlim got into Wired today:
http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/10/muxlim-plans-mu.html
The story is a "reprint" of an earlier TechCrunchUK story
Naturally ArcticStartup covered the same story as well.
Besides those online media the Muxlim story has also been published on: Brandrepublic, Lenta.ru, Cotidianul.ro, Hicomm.bg, Punto-informatico.it, itavisen.no, arabcrunch.com, startuparabia.com, virtualworldnews.com.
That is reasonably OK international exposure. And I'm sure more will follow from Muxlim.. The company is currently working on some very cool stuff, due to come out still within this year.
RunToShop has gone to over 400 online stores as partners now. There are some reasonably impressive names there, like: Apple, Amazon, Nike, iTunes, Alienware, Creative Labs, Expedia, Hotels.com, Scandic Hotels, Virgin, and Yves Rocher.
Also www.mulletoi.com webstore added RunToShop as a link to every product they have. Run was also featured in www.kuvaboxi.fi and in www.tradedoubler.fi
Meanwhile extensive product development continues and Run hopes to come out with a "proper non-test" version still within this year. With a more advanced version coming out early next year; and that would be the actual version the company plans to build its growth on. Its still "early days and bootstrap" but at least the progress is quite rapid.
www.vakuutuskone.com is starting to pick up some speed and usage. It is still the only service in the Finnish market that offers customized insurance quotes to people. Being the only one who offers this it is pretty reasonable to expect usage to go up for the foreseeable future. Go try it out, if you haven't already.
I hear Habbo Hotel is getting above 110 million users pretty soon. Starting to approach them MySpace and Facebook levels soon..

Being involved with multiple startups is a lot of fun, and gives you a viewpoint to get the latest from many perspectives. You get to work with a lot of smart people who know their space and follow the latest events and trends. Cross-breeding of information, contacts, leads, data, research, viewpoints, insights etc.. is very useful in this kind of a setting - it all comes from the attitude of being willing to learn openly and iterate fast.
Hi. My name is Taneli Tikka. This is where I preach what I practice. I'm a
serial entrepreneur and a startup activist of sorts. People usually know me
from my past and present consumer Internet service projects: IRC-Galleria,
Dopplr, Muxlim, StarDoll, RunToShop, Vakuutuskone.com, and a bunch of other stuff. My
"proper" bio is behind this link. Glad to see you here, thanks for browsing
around.
